All the ladies were more than relieved this morning that they didn’t need to battle the windy conditions that we have been experiencing lately. It was a most pleasant, bright and shiny winter’s morning that greeted the 27 participants entered into the Single Stableford competition. There certainly were no complaints to be heard, as the lack of moisture on the fairways helped to propel the ball along at a cracking pace to give more distance. The greens were also very slick so controlling the putting pace proved to be the challenge of the day. A rake in the bag, however, would have been handy in many cases as one needed to spend quite a lot of time clearing the debris that had gathered under the trees in the rough as a result of the wind.

As usual we took it all in our stride and some very fine scores were produced overall. In Division 1, Angela Boadle was in “relax mode” today with a two week  holiday imminent and she managed to steal the winning spot with 31 points from Sandra England in second place with 30 points.

The Second Division was dominated by an “in form and on fire” Linda Trusler who clocked up her third consecutive win with a magic score of 38 points. Sue Stephens was the bridesmaid again to Linda but wouldn’t have been disappointed with her very neat and tidy 35 points.

Sue Davies found her mojo again to take out the Division 3 competition with a great score 0f 36 points to her credit and Betty Tucker claimed the second spot with 30 points.
