The general weather conditions were kind to the ladies at the start this morning for the annual Two Person Aggregate Stableford which was generously sponsored by valued member, Wendy Phillips. The breeze was gentle and even had a coolish feel to it and as the morning progressed, the clouds hung around, keeping the heat of the sun at bay. However, as the morning wore on the wind picked up and that gritty smokiness pervaded the atmosphere creating uncomfortable conditions. We do count our blessings that we are only  having to endure the smoke and not the viciousness of fires at close quarters.

In an Aggregate Stableford event, the stableford points of each team member is added together for each hole and today the competition was very hot on the course, with the final result being decided on a count back for both first and third places.

Marj Burns and Margaret Ford combined well to secure the victory in racking up a creditable 68 points, claiming the the top spot on the count back from the equally skilled team of Sue Stephens and Betty Tucker who also had 68 points. Third place was narrowly snatched up by Linda Trusler and partner Gloria Davis on a count back with 61 points. The next three scores were also 61 points so it was quite an overall tussle in the end.

Cathy Ison was in good form today with her approach shots. Cathy took out the Division 1 NTP’s on on the 4th and 12th Holes and also won the “Jumbo Jackpot” on the 17th hole. Well done Cathy.
