It’s hard to believe that winter is already upon us , however, it presented itself beautifully today with clear blue skies, crisp clean air and plenty of warm sunshine to make for an enjoyable round of golf. The conditions today were as best you could wish for and now as the autumn leaves are more prolific under the trees than on them we are reminded that as the days get shorter we can expect some much cooler weather to come.
Thirty members took to the course this morning and results were again generally average. However, we can be forgiven for that because despite our stunning golf course, it is tough out there to score consistently. Perhaps if you are feeling a little disheartened by poor results, you should be kind to yourself and consider that it’s possible some confidence in your game has been lost over the forced break in competition. Hopefully before long the “mojo” will return and we will all be playing again like the champions we are.
It was like Captain’s versus President’s day in Division 1 today. The President managed to prevail when Sue Hunter produced her best performance in a while to take out the top spot with 33 points. Captain Jenny Brown fought hard but was unable to handle the pace and had to settle for the runner up trophy with 28 points.
Linda Trusler had a sterling round and was victorious in Division 2 with 34 points and is the top scorer for the day. Margaret Jennings played a steady round to claim the second position in Division 2 with a creditable 28 points.
Division 3 was a close encounter between a consistent Lyn Hatton and Di Pritchard. Lyn took out the top honours coming in with 31 points to Di’s 28. Not much in it there.
Ball Competition
Sue Stephens 27 points
Marj Burns 26 points
Betty Tucker, Margaret Ford, Donna Hewat and Lyn Hatchman 25 points
Jill Downie and Val Wilson 24 points.
