Springtime has arrived but one could be excused for thinking that maybe it was merely a rumour this morning. It takes courage to take the step to bare the legs after a long, cold winter and the early morning was feeling a little too cool around the knees. However, all our fears were put to rest when the clouds cleared to a very warm, delicious spring morning and despite the influx of a strong breeze, the warmth was most welcome.

The bushland exuded the tantalising perfumes of spring, the birds were very busy chattering and chirping and calling to potential mates, while the bees buzzed, ziggged and zagged in and out of the blossoms to savour the pollen and nectar offered there.

The lady golfers of course were settling in to the task at hand with the hope of winning a monthly medal and it appears that for most it was an arduous task at that. At last the course is beginning to dry out and just a few wet patches prevail and the band of boys from the green shed and their able volunteers have managed to fill in most of the irrigation trenches. This made the approach shot to the green a little easier.

It seems that it was a prerequisite to have a surname beginning with the letter “H” if you were to have a chance of a victory in any division  today.

In Division 1 Sue Hunter jagged a narrow win on a count back from Sue Beazley with a 76 nett result but Sue Beazley was able to claim the win in the scratch score with 100 neat.

Lyn Hatchman played superb golf today to romp it in in Division 2 with a fantastic 70 nett and also take out the scratch honour with 98 off the stick. Wendy Phillips was able to claim the runner up position on a count back with 77 nett.

Lyn Hatton maintained her winning form of past weeks to comfortably take out the Division 3 winning spot with 72 nett ahead of Margaret Ford in second position with 75 nett.
