The course was a little damp and boggy in some spots today following the consistent rainy weather over the past week. It was lucky, however that the spate of rain that had been forecast did not happen but there was sufficient to green up the fairways and it unfortunately assisted in maintaining the slow pace of the ball in its passage to the green. The speed on the greens was hard  to read which made for frustrating putting and added to the degree of difficulty of the day.

The showers did threaten during the morning but by the early afternoon the sun came out from behind the clouds to cheer us up. All in all the conditions were near to perfect for a game, despite the chilly breeze that whipped around from time to time.

The scoring was generally on the low side today and anything in the mid to high twenties was the average.

In Division 1 it was a close tussle for the top honours with Sue Hunter edging out Angela Boadle with a score of 33 points to 32 points respectively.

It was a similar result in Division 2 with Trish Austin scoring a tidy 26 points to to foil Linda Trusler with 25 points from claiming a win.

Margaret Ford was firing well in Division 3 , claiming the honour of clubhouse winner with the highest score of the day of 35 points. Marj Burns couldn’t match her playing partner’s skills today but managed to hold on to second position with 26 points on a count back from Donna Hewat.
