Despite the weather forecast being less than promising for this morning’s event 25 ladies took to the course with the attitude that the rain would clear and a bit of a shower was nothing to be concerned about. The suggestion that play be delayed for half an hour went unheeded and the contenders ventured out regardless. A few less than keen players decided against the prospect of getting wet and instead took the opportunity to keep dry and catch up with each other in the clubhouse.

Those who took the plunge were to be rewarded when the rain clouds started to clear, the sky turned blue and a very pleasant temperature prevailed, providing most satisfactory conditions for the remainder of the morning. A Foursomes event is never an uncomplicated affair but in the Stableford format over 18 holes is a very fast game. Everyone made short work of the task at hand, managing to finish the game within a three and a half hour time frame.

A close tussle ensued with the winning pair Fay Wright and Robyn Moore claiming the top honours with a tidy 34 points on a count back from the competitive team of Angela Boadle and Sue Hunter 34.

Championships Presentation

The presentation of trophies for the Club Championships and the Foursomes Championships was held after golf today. The Club Championships were sponsored by Bridges Financial Services, Colleen Campbell, Women’s Golf Nowra, Sandra England, Sandra Rigney, Sue Hunter and Margaret Jennings.
