The conditions were ideal and the course picture perfect today for the October Monthly Medal which was played in conjunction with the second round of the Women’s Club Championships after having been postponed from the beginning of the month due to wet weather. As a result, the competition was hot and the results close in all three divisions.

In Division 1 Jill Levi pipped Lorna Knott at the post to win on a count back with a creditable score of 72 nett while Marj Burns took out the honours with a 78 nett from Patricia Austin who was close on her heels in second place with 79 nett.

The Division 3 results proved to be the best on the day. Sue Davies came in with a “cracker” of a score with 98 off the stick to record a nett 62 with Ellen Ryan also finishing well with 71 nett.

Go Division 3!!

With the best nett score of the day, Sue Davies was the winner of the October Goblet generously donated by Linda Trusler. It seems that Sue Davies is the player to watch and with her good finish today has lost two strokes from her handicap. Well done Sue.

Ball rundown went to 80 nett and the Nearest the Pins will be awarded at the Championships Presentation on 1st November.

Rounds 3 and 4 of the Championships will be played next week. Hopefully we will continue to be lucky enough to dodge the showers and play good golf.
