There were no complaints about the wonderful cool weather conditions that prevailed for the first Golf NSW and Womem’s Golf Nowra Medal event for the year. The course had the upper hand for most contenders so that the returned scores were generally fairly average. The speed of the greens had many tricked with some faster than others, making putting a challenge.

In Division 1, Cathy Ison set a high standard with the best score of the day with 91 off the stick which gave her a creditable nett result of 72. This was enough to earn her the Wine Goblet of the Month and of course the prize for the Best Scratch score. The goblet each month is generously donated by Linda Trusler Cathy was quite bemused by her success as she had scored an 11 on one hole so must have had some great holes in her day to make up for that. Runner-up to Cathy in Division 1 was Des Thornett with a very fine result of 74.

Lyn Hatton claimed the second division by recording a nett 76 on a count back from Maree McLean who came snapping at her heels with 76 also.

Di Pritchard is certainly working on her handicap. She managed to repeat her successes of the last two competition rounds by taking out the winning spot again in Division 3 with 78 nett while Margaret Ford came in second with a score of 80.

The Putting Competition was won by Sue Stephens with 26 putts. Well done Sue.

The best Scratch score in Division 1 was won by Cathy Ison with 91, Wendy Phillips in Division 2 with 101 and Ellen Ryan in Division 3 with 114.
