The weather was not ideal today for the Ellen Ryan sponsored event which had been postponed earlier in the year due to inclement weather. However, 34 starters braved the threatening rain clouds in honour of Ellen’s generosity.
Unfortunately, a few holes into the start very heavy rain and strong wind ensued which sent everyone running for cover to don the wet weather gear and try to regroup. The rain was relentless and some groups decided to stop play and as a result the competition was reduced to nine holes.
Winners of the “front nine” competition were Margaret Ford and Jeanette Bright with 21 points. Runners Up were the sponsor Ellen Ryan and her partner Trish Austin with 19 points on a count back.
On the “back nine” Anne Newton and Sandra Rigney prevailed on a countback with 22 points from Val Wilson and Jill Levi.

4th – No Division 1 prize awarded, Division 2 Robyn Moore and Division 3 Ellen Ryan
16th – Division 1 Shirley Moore and Division 2 Sandra Rigney, no Division 3 prize awarded. This was to be the Jackpot Hole today but as not everyone played the “back nine” it was a ball prize.
17th – Division 1 Sue Stephens, Division 2 Val Wilson, no Division 3 prize awarded.
Ball competition went to 16 points.
Next week, 22nd November, is Captain vs President Day sponsored by Jenny Brown and Sue Stephens. The competition is a 4BBB Matchplay. If your name is on the left side of the timesheet you are playing for the Captain’s side in which case you are asked to wear the current multi coloured club shirt. The right hand side of the timesheet is the President”s side who are asked to wear a green shirt.
The President won the match last year so good luck to both sides.
